“While we recognise our distinctive existence as a group, as programmers, as artists or writers or scientists or musicians, we rarely see these ways of representing ourselves as mere fragments of a class experience that is still struggling to express itself as itself, as expressions of the process of producing abstraction in the world.”

I have been collaborating with a poets, Kate Greenstreet, Maureen Alsop, Karla Kelsey, creating what I call ekpharstic videos. I have made or collaborated on Ekpharistic videos of poems written by Johannes Göransson,Cyrus Cassells, William Olsen.
I am a composer as well as a visual artist. I have composed over 400 original works of music for video, live performance, collaborative performances with fiction writers and poets, as well as a collaboration for modern dance with Susquehanna University’s Theater Department.
My work is formed in part from software that I create. In the process of creating the software I have begun to have a deeper understanding of the interrelationships between language and the self and how deeply the two are intertwined. This process of creating software and examining language has shown me that who we think we are is no more than a manifestation of whom we wish we were. Values and notions of self in my work are something that I challenge.
I hope to one day see my dog Jessie again.

I saw an article on you in th daily Item and was drawn by the photograph of that covered bridge. I love the premise and the technique seems unique as well. I am from Lewisburg and go to school for Photography at Penn College of Technology in Williamsport. It is always interesting to find talented people in the area with the same love for the medium. I would love to discuss more about what kind of format you are using to shoot as well as other technical aspects of your work. If nothing else, please keep me posted on any shows you are doing in the area.
Peace be with You,
John D. Nicholson

Peter, you AND your work are – excuse me children and ladies – fucking awsome. Sorry I can’t be more creative with words than that, but it is succinctly descriptive.
So glad we met up. Oh, by the way, still…..”I don’t WANNA go home!”.
Love K
Did you take the photo of the bridge?
Just wondering..bc it’s amazing.
I love it.
Okay off to read some more about you.
Thank you again for your great work in the ninth eighth of Drunken Boat. Your work is superlative, and I’d like for you to be the first to hear about our upcoming folio of sound art slated for our 11th issue, to be released in January. If you have any work that you think would be a fit for this folio, or have any questions, please email me at sarah@drunkenboat.com .
Sincerely,

Your collages are amazing. I would love to see the originals. Photos never do original artwork justice.
